			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Paul, I have really learned so much in this class!  I have really enjoyed it because I currently work for an oil company in the Human Resources department, and it is such a great feeling to offer ideas of new programs we could uses to train our employees at the field offices.  The programs you&#8217;ve taught us can be so beneficial for a company like mine (we have about 75 field locations across the US).  For example, SnagIt can be used to capture images or screen shots to be used in demonstrations. Then, Captivate and Articulate are wonderful for teaching.  Files are quick and easy to make that they can be made even for indvidual needs.  Also, Wiki is a an awesome tool for a training department.  When we present new software to the field, we can write /blog / and even show demonstrations about the software all in one place that the employees can look back to &#8211; they won&#8217;t have to sort through thousands of emails.  Overall, this class has been very beneficial to my career and I have truly enjoyed it.  (Not gonna lie, I am not the best with computers/programs, and I was not looking forward to this class, but I ended up really enjoying it!) I also like that you made us learn how to use a blog.  A lot of my friends use blogs to keep up updating with baby news, wedding news, life, etc. and now that I know how to work a blog, I would like to create one myself!</p>
<p> Paul, I think you&#8217;re an awesome teacher!  I truly appreciate how patient you&#8217;ve been with me throughout the semester!!!  I know I can be very irritating at times, LOL. You have made my last semester at UH more satisfying than I expected!  Thank you for everything you&#8217;ve taught me!!!  I hope you have a wonderful holiday season! <img src='http://s2.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p>Articulate Engage can benefit an online course tremendously.  Sometimes it is difficult for students to learn/understand content that is presented soley through written print, so a verbal demonstration can sometimes clear up confusion.  Also, many students do not have the time or discipline to sit and read hours of text to understand a concept, and a short presentation through Articulate Engage could help to summarize the information.  Also, with Articulate Engage, students can verbally interact and ask questions to their professor or other students.</p>
<p><strong>2. Identify each of the interaction types and provide a brief description or explanation of how each can be used.</strong></p>

<p>In the context of eLearning, <strong>interaction is a learning activity</strong> where and individual is presented with a problem or scenario and must work to achieve a goal.  Interactions should be planned to keep the learner&#8217;s attention.</p>
<p> <strong>Interactions are necessary in eLearnings</strong> because they keep the learner focused and help them to retain the knowledge presented to them through the eLearning program.  Interactions should help to grab the learners attention and stimulate their minds during the activity.</p>
<p><strong>The 4 levels of interaction include:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li><em>Passive</em> &#8211; the learner simply reads through the material presented</li>
<li><em>Limited Interaction </em>- similar to <em>Passive</em>, but the learner may also be given interative animations or other capabilities to access the information more in depth</li>
<li><em>Complex Interaction</em> &#8211; more engagement is required. The learner may be expected to fill in text entry boxes or use scenario based logic where the learner would raceive feedback for correct or incorrect responses.</li>
<li><em>Real-Time Interaction</em> &#8211; the learner is engaged in a life-like situation and can also be subject to an assesment.</li>

<p>Wikis <strong>can be great for organizations</strong> because it can be a common ground for the entire organization, or specific departments.  Many companies have opted to have a wiki for each department where they store spreadsheets, Power Point slides, Word documents, PDFs, etc.  These wikis can have security settings so that not anyone can make edits.</p>
<p>An organization should <strong>consider using wiki</strong> when it wants to have a publicly accessible (by the company&#8217;s employees) location of many documents and information.  An organization should <strong>avoid using wiki</strong> if you don&#8217;t have a staff member who can be responsible for the site.  Also, wiki cannot support all file formats.  Finally, organizations should know that wiki isn&#8217;t appropriate for group working &#8211; wikis aren&#8217;t to be used for carrying on conversations, etc.</p>
<p><strong>Wiki vs. Traditional Content Management Software </strong>Wikis are very inexpensive in comparison to traditional content management software.  Also, they are user-friendly and do not require the use of external software.  Wikis do not require much user-training/learning and can be setup to the users liking rather than a generic manufacturer setting.  Finally, wikis allow collaboration by all individuals involved.</p>
<p><strong>Best Practices for Adopting a Wiki Within an Organization:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Find a technology solution that fits the employee group as a whole</li>

<p><strong>Synchronous</strong>learning requires simultaneous participation of all learners involved.  For synchronous learning, all learners work together  in real time.  <strong>Asynchronous</strong> learning allows learning to collaborate at different times of each other.</p>
<p>e-Learning provides many <strong>benefits</strong> such as time flexibility, cost, collaboration with other learners, unlimited access to learning documents, etc.</p>
<p><strong>Knowledge Management</strong> helps to control what knowledge is available based on importance and authenticity.</p>
